Question
Hi,
I have been having some minor problem with TWiki.
First is about "locking"
The
UnlockTopic in the documentation says
"You can reset the lock by checking the "Unlock topic" checkbox in preview."
My "preview" window never shows this checkbox. I can post a screenshot of the window if necessary.
Second, whenever I make changes, the revision information always shows my information as "TwikiGuest" even though I am authenticated and have registered in
TWikiUsers.
"Revision r1.8 - 10 Jun 2002 - 17:57 by
TWikiGuest "
Third, the revision time stamp seems to be wrong. maybe this is more of an
RCS question.
I aprreciate any responses to this.
.
- TWiki version: (is there a easy way to find this from the twiki web page)
- Web server: Apache
- Server OS: Linux
- Web browser: Internet Explorer
- Client OS: Windows 2000

Answer
The doc was out of date, it is now:
You can remove the lock by checking the "Release edit lock" checkbox in preview.
Regarding auhentication, did the browser prompt you for login? From the revision time stamp it look as if you are not authenticated. Make sure to enable authentication as documented.

Thanks for the answer. Actually I dont see any check box(es) before the "save changes" button. Is there an option that was missed during installation so that the preview window would show the check boxes.
For the authentication, TWiki does ask for my windows domain login, the REMOTE_USER variable is set to my login name and my twiki name does show up in the \%WIKIUSERNAME\%.

Answer
I have found the problem. I was using an older version of TWiki WIKIVERSION = Wiki tool version, is 01 May 2000 .
The feature was added in 01-July-2000 version.
