Question
On our TWiki, we are unable to edit topics. When I was out of town a couple of weeks ago, the TWiki was upgraded from a previous version (I don't know which) to 4.0.5. Ever since, instead of having Edit shown at the top of the topic it shows
%EDITTOPIC%. It does not say "
Edit" or "Edit this page", just
%EDITTOPIC%. The link is not active and does nothing when it is clicked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.
It looks like you are using a non-standard skin. Study how the
ClassicSkin and the
PatternSkin present the edit link.
If you do not care about disabled edit links (e.g. when looking at older topic revs), you can define an EDITTOPIC setting in your
TWikiPreferences topic:
* Set EDITTOPIC = <a href="%SCRIPTURL{edit}%/Support/UnableToEditTopics?t=%SERVERTIME{$day$hou$min$sec}%">Edit</a>

Thanks for the quick response. When I posted this question I overlooked the TWiki plugins portion and left what was there by default. The truth is, I did not instal this TWiki, and I don't believe anything but the default was set up. So unless a plugin is included by default, I don't think any were added. The skin that is used is the default skin.
As far as editing the
TWikiPreferences topic to what you described... I cannot do that either as the link to edit that topic also only shows
%EDITTOPIC% and is not active.

Your safest bet is to reinstall the TWiki files from the package, and to review the configure settings.
