Question

I was pleased to see the release 4.1.2 comment Simply copy the files on top of the existing files.

And foolishly did that without bothering to backup etc... And have landed up with this error after unzipping the upgrade-4.1.2.tgz.

Can't locate object method "settings" via package "TWiki::Plugins" at /var/www/twiki/lib/TWiki.pm line 1403

When I run the configure script, I get:

Could not load TWiki::Configure::JS. Please ensure this module is installed
and available on the perl @INC path before continuing. If the
module is already installed, but can't be found, you may need
to adjust your perl path, for example by setting PERL5LIB.

The error seen was:

Please advise.

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

Please read the TWiki docs about how to upgrade - possibly it's something to do with your local site config files in twiki/bin and twiki/lib.

I am sorry. My previous version was 4.0.5. Apologies to all those who spent time scratching their brains. I have a second installation for experimentation where I had 4.1.0 and has smoothly upgraded to 4.1.2. This page may be deleted or at least renamed since the title is certainly misleading.
