Question

According to TWiki04.PatternSkinCssCookbook#When_you_need_small_adjustments: if I set USERSTYLEURL in my Home topic, the style sheet will override styles for the entire site (for me).

This isn't working. The override is working for my Home Topic and only for my Home Topic.

The site is using PatternSkin; I checked and

    * Set SKIN = pattern
is set in TWIkiPreferences.

That page sets TWIKILAYOUTURL and TWIKISTYLEURL as well. Perhaps I should be overriding these variables?

I'm confused...

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

Setting

   * Set USERCOLORSURL = %PUBURL%/%TWIKIWEB%/PatternSkin/mycolors.css
works for me.

Could it be that you have the USER***URL settings in the FINALPREFERENCES in either Main or TWiki's TWikiPreferences?

closing, as that was most likely the issue..
