Question

In a windows intranet environment, is there a way to mark changes based on the users logon id?

We would like to try a wiki, but we need a way to identify who actually makes what changes. We can't have another login system with another password for users to remember.

Answer

You are probably using IE, right? It has checkbox "remember my password". When introducing your users (15 minutes personal trainig session), let them create account, and check this checkbox. And no more excuses not use Twiki... wink

Twiki seems to pick up the windows user id automatically using IE.

Actually IIS and IE are required for this auto-authentication to work. For Apache users, there are some TWiki topics that talk about this, see ForgettingPasswords and do a Ref-By.
