Question

When I edit an existing topic with the Wysiwyg Editor, the save process hangs and must be canceled. Only new topics which contain nothing more than the autor's signature can successfully be saved.

The webserver writes the following error to the errorlog:

[Sun May 07 15:02:03 2006] [error] [client 10.32.194.106] Premature end of script headers: save, referer: http://twikitest.da.gei/bin/edit/Sandbox/WysiwygTest2?cover=kupu&t=1147002139

Meanwhile I realized, that the regular edit function hangs too, when an existing topic is going to be saved. This seems to be caused by the rcs not working properly, perhaps due to some configuration problems.

I had a similar effect some weeks ago. It turned out, that the temp directory was not configured properly, which had the effect that the repository could not be written.

The current situation seems to be similar to the old one, but I did not find the bug. Any ideas where to look in order to get rcs working properly?

Remark: Now the topic should be named: EditorHangsOnSave

Answer

4.0.3 is about to be released soon and has some enhancements in this area.

If your problem still exists in 4.0.3 you should report it in our bug tracker (Bugs:WebHome).
