Question

I am trying to make new pages based on a template and the Wysiwyg editor / kupu skin does not import the text from the template topic. It happens even using the example page from TWikiTemplates when I add the following line to the form:

<input type="hidden" name="cover" value="kupu" />
. The form associated with the template topic is imported though. Everything works as expected if I use the pattern skin.

I can use the pattern skin for now but I would prefer to use WYSIWYG to reduce user-confusion.

Environment

TWiki version: TWikiRelease04x00x00
TWiki plugins: Plugins.Wysiwyg
Server OS: FreeBSD (latest)
Web server: Apache 2.?
Perl version: ?
Client OS: Windows 2000SP4
Web Browser: Firefox 1.5.0.1
Categories: Plugins

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

I don't understand your report. What are you trying to do? What do you mean "everything works if I use the Pattern skin"? Wysiwyg is invoked from the pattern skin. Or do you mean the edit screen from the pattern skin?

Sorry about the delay in my response. Maintaining my lab's website is about #15 on my list of duties... the first 14 often keep me away for weeks on end. I will try to elaborate. I am trying to create a new topic, based on a template, using a (html) form button. Here is my TML code (mostly html):

<FORM action="%SCRIPTURLPATH{edit}%/%WEB%/" name="NewAcademic">
Submit a new article:
     <input type="hidden" name="topic" value="NewsAcSubmission%SERVERTIME{"$day$mo$ye$hou$min"}%"  size="27"></input>
     <INPUT value="NewsSubmitTemplate" name="templatetopic" type="hidden"></INPUT>
     <INPUT value="News" name="topicparent" type="hidden"></INPUT>
     <INPUT value="on" name="onlywikiname" type="hidden"></INPUT>
     <INPUT value="on" name="onlynewtopic" type="hidden"></INPUT>
     <INPUT value="AcademicPublication" type="submit" class="twikiSubmit"></INPUT>
</FORM>
As you can see, this form creates a new topic based on the templatetopic named NewsSubmitTemplate. The NewsSubmitTemplate contains a form, but it also contains some text in the edit window. When I use the default edit skin (which is pattern at the moment), the text in the template appears in the new topic's edit window. However, when I use the kupu cover to create the new topic, the edit window is blank. A demo page can be found here: http://www.mru.brain.riken.jp/Sandbox/News The top button works (with pattern skin). The bottom button does not work (with kupu skin).

Thank you, and I will try to be more prompt in my reply. -- ChadBoulay - 30 May 2006

This is a known limitation of the Wysiwyg plugin I'm afraid - see plugin topic.
