"Data Programs and Structures"; Christopher J. Van Wyk, 1992, ISBN 0-201-53895-3 (I borrowed from the NCCAC library) — seemed fairly useful to understand unions, nice thin book, should let you know more after some more experience. See Cpl Void and Cpl Unions And Structs. Appendix A has what appears to be a decent short summary of C.
"Teach Yourself C Programming in 21 Days"; Peter Aitken and Bradley L. Jones, 1995, Sams Publishing — I've had this book for a while, and it's one of those thick ones that I usually dislike, I'll re-evalutate again as I use it in this current effort. It did have a useful section on macros around page 512 — just flipping through it now, it may not be that bad (i.e., tedious, and filled with long code examples that drive me to distraction).
(rhk) Quick Introduction to C; ; — this may be worthwhile &mdash: make that will looks like he's commented some programs the way I'd like to see them commented

(rhk) Teaching Machine videos; ; — some videos for learning C — apparently work only under Windows, so I'll paste this link here and open it from a Windows machine someday and see whether they are worthwhile.
