INTERNET EVENTS
- National Science Foundation (NSF) created its own network called NSFNET.
- NSFNET used TCP/IP and ran faster than ARPANET by running more phone lines between big cities. This formed a strong Internet backbone.
- There are now about 6000 hosts/nodes at the end of 1986.
