This is a commercial Windows-based database with the ability to handle unstructured text as well as structured data fields. Has impressive searching and reporting features, but doesn't perform
Wiki:AccidentalLinking
through
WikiWords; can publish databases to the web, but doesn't seem to allow multi-user updates a la Wiki.
Well worth looking at for its searching features - see
http://www.asksam.com/
.

Richard,
When you edited this page was there anything here? I just looked at the diffs and they show that I started the page, but that I included absolutely no content. Knowing myself, I just can't believe I did that ;-), and suspect something happened to the diff record.
Do you have any idea? (I'm really trying to determine whether there is a(n occasional) problem with diff /
RCS.)
PS: Re multi-user updates: At one time there was a network version of
AskSam (I actually own a copy) that allowed multi-user updates over a LAN. I sort of assumed (but I know what that does) that ability was maintained (or reincorporated later) when
AskSam was "moved" to the Internet version. But, I don't really know.
AskSam does have
excellent searching capabilities, especially the "pro" versions (if that's what they call them) which index the data for searching. All kinds of searches -- phrases, boolean, proximity, combinations of searches for structured data with free form data, and more that I can't remember at the moment.

I'm not sure if there was anything here already - I would assume that TWiki is correct unless you have some evidence otherwise, though, as I've not seen problems like this before.

Richard,
Thanks for the response! I guess for now I'll just (despite any attempt to do otherwise) keep it in the back of my head as a possible
RCS problem. (I have no evidence otherwise that
RCS is incorrect.)
