ViewCVS is a web-based application that
SourceForge and other sites use to enable browsing of CVS and Subversion (
SVN) repositories on the web. (
SourceForge used to use
CvsWeb.)
ViewCVS lets you browse the entire version history, compare two versions of a file, annotate a file so you can see who changed a particular line, generate context diffs for patches, and more.
The
viewcvs repository for TWiki project is currently
out of date, since TWiki development is now using
SVN hosted outside
SourceForge. The old repository is still at
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/twiki/twiki/
.
You can also create
InterWiki links to any TWiki CVS/SVN file - these now point at
SVN. Originally
CVS:bin/view
showed the whole history and
CVSget:bin/view
referenced just the latest version.
Note that
ViewCVS is currently running about 24 hours behind CVS updates, due to
SourceForge load problems, so for the latest updates you should either use a CVS client (see
CvsReadme) or be patient for a while.
TWikiAlphaRelease is built overnight as well, letting you download a complete alpha without using CVS.
SVNget:bin/view
is used to point to the latest
SVN version of a TWiki source file - see
InterSiteLinkRules.
