Question

Hello!

We have a TWiki site up and running for several months now. (Release 4.0.2)

All the content is currently in English. We are trying to create a dual language site - English and Spanish.

Is it possible to:

1. Redirect the site users to Spanish version topics based on their user preference

2. Display the TWiki menu/interface in Spanish on the Spanish version topics

Has anyone implemented this type of functionality? Are there any recommended approaches - one site, two webs vs two separate sites for the two languages? Is it possible to translate the content through some plugin?

Any pointers on these questions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

See generic information at Tag:internationalization and Tag:localization. The TopicTranslationsPlugin might be useful for your application.

I've installed TopicTranslationsPlugin on Twiki (4.2.4, Sat, 06 Dec 2008, build 17773, Plugin API version 1.2).

Then I got an error "TopicTranslationsPlugin" could not be loaded. Can't locate I18N/AcceptLanguage.pm in @INC (and the content of @INC, a very long path).

I found directory I18N but it doesn't contain the AcceptLanguage.pm. frown

I thought maybe the problem was that some Internationalization files were missing, but everything seems to be ok. In fact, everything but the configure script, which, when I tried to activate some options like UserInterfaceInternationalisation (I'm not sure If it is needed for TopicTranslationsPlugin), I get this error running the configure script http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Support/ConfigureFailsWithPerlError (and I also get an error trying to update the CGI CPAN as described there). frown frown

I checked the perl packages installed but it seems all the needed packages are already installed.

After all this, I'm getting completely crazy, 'cause I don't know exactly what do I need to make Plugin work fine.

Also I'm navigating through the wiki websites linked from twiki.org to see if any of them are multi-language, but I found no one by the moment.

I just wonder if there is some web page or someone who is using this plugin who can help me.

Thank you very very much,
