Question
Peter,
The
WebStatistics for the Wikilearn web are not automatically updating. It's not a big deal, but if you get a chance would you take a look.
Here is some information:
- Statistics stopped in December (around 8 Dec, IIRC).
- Statistics started again on 1 Jan, but stopped again on 5 Jan (IIRC).
- In both December and January, I tried manually updating the statistics after they stopped.
- In December, manual updating didn't work -- IIRC, the update page printed about 4 lines and stopped, never completed. (Might have been as few as 2 lines.)
- The update currently on the Wikilearn web (08 Jan 2002 - 14:28) is the result of a manual update I made (i.e., the manual update seems to work in January).
Possibly I failed to wait long enough on one of my attempts at a manual update in December -- I did wait a long time (at least a minute, IIRC), but I saw no evidence of further progress so I probably used the back arrow to go back to the
WebStatistics page.
- TWiki version: Current SourceForge
- Web server: "
- Server OS: "
- Web browser: NA (but IE5)
- Client OS: NA (but Win95)

Answer
I have another
WebStatistics problem on our intranet TWiki - since upgrading from the Dec 2000 code to the March 2001 beta, I find that only the updates column is filled in, i.e. the Views column is completely empty (except for the months before the upgrade). Has anyone else seen this?

Richard: You need to enable log of view, in TWiki.cfg see $doLogTopicView and more.
Randy:
SourceForge seems to kill processes that eat too much memory. The statistics script silently dies after reading the log file of the current month, which currently has 6.8 MB. This brings up
Codev.StatisticsUsingLessResources.
