USING STOP "POP UP WINDOWS" UTILITY PROGRAMS
If any of you have ever used the Internet, you probably have had pop up windows that appear out of nowhere with some sort of advertisement urging you to click here for more information. Sometimes when you close one, ten more appear. Sometimes there seems to be no way to even close or shrink these pop up windows.
So now we need a
stop "pop up windows" utility program. However, sometimes you need those pop up windows, because when you click on a hyperlink within a web page, a new browser window appears. If you do have a
stop "pop up windows" utility program running on your computer, you must have a way to override the "stop command" so that you can open those windows from clicking on those hyperlinks in web pages.
There are several free
stop "pop up windows" utility programs. Some seem to work better than others depending on which operating system you have on your computer. I use the one called Pop-Up Stopper from Panicware. When I click on a hyperlink and nothing happens, I just hold down the shift key to override the stop command. I have not used any of the others, which may work just as easy as this one does.
Below are several free
stop "pop up windows" utility programs.
