WHAT DO KEYWORDS AND META TAGS HAVE TO DO WITH SEARCH ENGINES?
First of all you are probably saying to yourself what are
keywords and meta tags? If you were reading a newspaper article and had to sum up what the newspaper article said in one word, that would a
keyword . There is a code in HTML that is called a Meta Tag. This is where you would place a
keyword(s) that would describe what your web page is all about.
This is one of the ways a search engine could then locate your page and index your web page under that topic category. Today this is not as important as it use to be as search engines also have evolved with the ways they find web pages on topics. However, it is still a good idea to do this when creating a web page.
Again, we will be talking more about
keyword(s) and also
keyword phrases later on today when using search engines.
