Memory
The iRulu AX105 comes with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of built-in flash memory.
When I first looked at the configuration screen ("Storage") that shows the memory, I was afraid I got shortchanged. My understanding now is that the configuration screen does not include the memory used by the system, only the memory that is available (in some sense) for the user.
Under the "Storage" heading in the configuration screens, you will find the following entries relevant to memory:
- "Internal Storage"--this refers to the RAM memory: My system reports that there is 504 MB available, with the other ~500 MB not mentioned, but presumably used by Android.
- "SD Card"--this refers to the internal Flash memory. My system reports that there is 4.41 GB available, with the other ~3.6 GB not mentioned, but presumably used by Android.
- "EXTSD"--this refers to the TF / micro SD slot into which you can plug a micro SD card for additional storage.
- "USBHOST1"--this refers to, the possibility of plugging in a storage device to the USB or Host ports. (I wonder if the USBHOST designation is a hint that a storage device will only work if it is plugged into the Host port? Something to test.) I assume it could either be a pendrive type device or something like an external hard drive with a USB interface. Something else to test.
