SiS chipsets. I (and others) have some difficulties using
SiS chipsets, so I'm starting this page to collect helpful resources or notes.

Ignoring very old chips, there are currently four groups of SiS VGA chips:
- The old series (5597/5598, 6326, 530),
- the 300 series (300, 540, 630, 730),
- the 310 series (315/E/H/PRO, 550, 650, M650, 740), and
- the Xabre series (330; 328, 332, 334, 336, 320, 340, 360).
The devices within these groups are (more or less) compatible to each other.
