Feedback on BehaviourContrib

-- ArthurClemens - 07 Sep 2006

Thanks Arthur for contributing the extension, I almost missed it!

All users are urged to download version 1.1 of BehaviourContrib: this brings a major speed enhancement for Windows Explorer users. Most notably on long pages with Twisties or attachments with a show/hide link.

I'm using TWiki-4.0.4-3, Wed, 06 Jul 2006, build 10807. I tried installing BehaviourContrib v1.1 I then tried the "TWiki Web Home" example link on my new BehaviourContrib page. It didn't work. I did get a pop-up window, but it reads "Attention", The "TWiki/WebHomenull" web does not exist

I think the BehaviourContrib page should include more test cases so that one could have confidence that it works. I don't know javascript and I don't know behaviour.js, so I'm not in a position to do it.

Troy, what browser are you using?

load BehaviourContrib ASAP. as it is, using NatSkin, it loads after the other scripts, so they cease to function since they complain of "cannot find behaviour" (unsure if it's B or b), then Twisty doesn't work, and havoc ensues :P. to make it load ASAP, i inserted it into page.nat.tmpl near the top, under the <link /> elements (C&P from the Contrib's page, the <script> mentioned on that page).

RussOchsner posted a security notice to the TWikiSecurityMailingList that ClamAV declared BehaviourContrib as infected by a virus. Thank you Russ for following the documented process on notifying us of potential issues. It turned out that this was a false alarm caused by the obfuscated Javascript code in this contrib.

This contrib could be shipped with non-compressed Javascript. Are there noticable implications in performance if we do that?

JeffreyGrace alerted the TWikiSecurityMailingList that CA etrust AV detected a JS/MS06-014 exploit in BehaviourContrib:

> The JS/MS06-014!exploit was detected in C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS

This is a false alarm.
