Daily Comics Add-On

How to add daily comics to your TWiki website. I view TWiki as enabling collaborative newspapers, so I thought why not add Daily Comics to it like in a real newspaper.

Not sure how to classify this html one one-liner, so using Add-On.

  • Mason Darrow - Non Profit Lawyer by John Klossner

  • DuJour by Robert Seymour

* syntaxerrorscomics by Damon Riesberg

Add-On Installation Instructions

Note: You do not need to install anything on the browser to use this add-on. The following instructions are for the editor who installs the add-on on the pages where TWiki is running.

Copy the following html code in your pages:

  • Mason Darrow - Non Profit Lawyer by John Klossner
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.masondarrow.com/">
    <img src="http://www.masondarrow.com/images/MDcurrent.gif" width="590" height="192">
  • DuJour by Robert Seymour
<a target="_blank" href="http://dujour.ws/">
    <img src="http://nocache.dujour.ws/cgi/index.png" width="269" height="320">
* syntaxerrorscomics by Damon Riesberg
<a target="_blank" href="http://www.syntaxerrorscomics.com/">
   <img src="http://www.syntaxerrorscomics.com/images//syntaxErrors_current.gif" width="710" height="243" >

Don't forget to include the width & height of the image in the link as this will allow your browsers to layout & display the page while the request is going through the internet to get the real image file. If you don't explicit list the size of the image, most browsers will wait for the image to be transfered accross the internet before even beginning to display your page.

I have no problems with you displaying DuJour on your Websites,
as long as they are not used to sell or promote anything.
I only ask that you supply a link back to DuJour for your visitors
to visit DuJour and our archives cartoons if they like.

This code will display daily updated DuJour cartoons on your page:
<a href="http://dujour.ws"><img src="http://nocache.dujour.ws/cgi/index.png"></a>

Let me know when they are up.

Thanks for thinking of DuJour. I am glad you like it.

yes...you have my permission. Just use:

and make it linkable to the main page. In doing that, you're not going to
get the comments section that acompanies the strip.....and i'm not sure
how to make that work just yet. But in the mean time, this should work

You have my permission to publish my comics on the twiki.org page. But,
since we're talking legal terms, I give myself the right to refuse
permission at anytime. Ha! Basically, I'm all for getting my stuff out
there and letting people see it right now and i really appreciate the
offer. But if I were to ever get in an exclusive contract (online
syndication) where I am actually making money (or decide that a future
business model is going to have advertisers on my home page generate
money), then i might have to deny this permission and try to direct people
to whoever is paying the bills.
