Feedback on RenderFormPlugin

-- DanielRohde - 04 Oct 2008

To do:

  • Benchmarks
  • AJAX based form data submission
  • ... (Bug fixes ...)

-- DanielRohde - 04 Oct 2008

Why create yet another form plugin? FormPlugin has a PleaseFeelFreeToModify policy.

Thank you Daniel for sharing this plugin with the TWikiCommunity! There are some related plugins, see list at the bottom. It might make sense to merge some functionality.

Hi, the RenderFormPlugin has another target group. I've tried to make the usage of TWikiForms much easier than TWikiForms or FormPlugin. You do not need ...

  • to register forms.
  • access rights for the WebPreferences to register forms.
  • to edit a topic.
  • to add the form to a topic.
The FormPlugin targets to TWiki developers not to end users and allows more complex forms. RenderFormPlugin needs two things: a TWikiForms definition and topic with a %RENDERFORM{"MyFormDef"}% tag.

Hm, I'm slightly concerned about the stated Benchmark values, but will give it a try all the same. smile

-- FranzJosefGigler - 06 Oct 2008

I've fixed the performance problems. The Benchmark values are nice. The problem was: I've used the Switch Perl package.

Hello. I created Support.SID-00733: Multiple Values for one Form Field in TWikiForms
