Feedback on SoapClientPlugin

-- SvenDowideit - 21 Sep 2003

Can someone provide a brief explanation (or link) to explain what SOAP is and why someone might want to use it? IIUC, it stands for Simple Object Application(??) Protocol, but what is it good for?

Randy, did you read TWikiAsWebServicesClient? SOAP will give you references to documents about the background.

Basically, systems on the internet now have programmatic interfaces. This allows you to interact at a data level, so instead of pulling HTML you pull XML, and instead of fudging CGI parameters you have unified formal mechanisms.

Thank you Sven for sharing this Plugin with the TWikiCommunity by publishing the archive file on TWiki.org!
