Discussion for TabbedNavigationAddOn

My first addon.

PS: Why isn't %ATTACHURL%/screen1.png not displaying anything on TabbedNavigationAddOn?

-- PankajPant - 30 May 2007

What does the foobar script do?

It would be nice to have (be able to choose?) a tab style that is not to graphical (which site would it fit?), something as light as on http://www.flickr.com/search/

-- ArthurClemens - 30 May 2007

Ummm. That was probably in the template and I didn't notice it.

As for the style, it's not too hard to change the look. As described in the customization section, all that needs to be updated are the 5 background images. An hour with your favorite image tool should do it.

-- PankajPant - 30 May 2007

Forgot to mention that we use BlueSkin and it fits quite well.

-- PankajPant - 30 May 2007

So you actually have a working BlueSkin version tested on TWiki 4.x? wink

-- FranzJosefGigler - 30 May 2007

I would prefer not to use images at all.

-- ArthurClemens - 30 May 2007

No, unfortunately not. I've just started to port over our Cairo apps to TWiki4, and thought that I'd package some of them in the process. I might post a couple more in the coming weeks.

As for the skin, we'll probably stick with PatternSkin (or NatSkin) from now on, customizing it to make it look as familiar to our users as possible.

Arthur, if you create narrow single color images for each of the ones used, you should get what you want.

I looked at the CSS again, and it is quite simple to use plain colors. For instance, if you make the following changes to the CSS in TabbedNavigationInclude:

#tab_list { background: orange; }
#tab_list li, #tab_list a { background: blue; }
#tab_list #tab_current, #tab_list #tab_current a { background: yellow; }
the example in TabsPage would look like:

Thanks Pankaj for contributing this add-on!

Small feedback:

  • Add a descriptive SHORTDESCRIPTION
  • Write %ATTACHURL%/screen1.png instead of hardcoded viewfile URL
  • Use interwiki links for topics that exist only on twiki.org.

I have done thos changes in add-on topic; feel free to take this into the next release.

Thanks. Will do.

I think this is a great addon. I wanted to make it look like wikipedia for some topics but I face a problem. Can you please answer my question at TabbedNavigationAddOnProblem?

-- ChengappaCB - 24 Dec 2007

As per the answer to the question above, this plugin does not work properly if one topic name is a complete subset of the others. Can you please correct this in the next version ?

-- ChengappaCB - 01 Jan 2008

Chengappa, In TabbedNavigationInclude, try replacing the two occurrances of $FIND($item,%BASETOPIC%) with $EXACT($item,%BASETOPIC%). Does that work?

-- PankajPant - 01 Jan 2008

Oh it does Pankaj. Perfect !. Thanks a lot and my apologies for not checking this page for months. I think a new zip file has been added to the Addon page by OliverKrueger. Not sure if that includes this correction.
