Neat!
Something is not entirely right in the html example. The "expand" and "show" links should not be visible with javascript off. See the
demo attachment on
Codev.TwistyIncludes.
Ah!
twisty.css
should include:
.twikiTwistMakeVisible { display:none; }

I have updated
twisty.css
. I also removed the color style from
twikiTwistPlaceholder
so skins may implement this, and put the example style in updated
toggle-optm-jsoff-sep.html
.

Thanks Sam and Rafael for contributing this as an extension!
I made
some changes to the contrib topic:
-
%TWIKIWEB%
instead of TWiki
-
%WEB%
instead of Plugins
so that demo works in any web
- some other small fixes

There has been a small change in the naming of css classes; 'twikiTwistXxx' class names have been renamed to 'twistyXxx' to be consistent with other plugins.
See

We integrated
CoffeeBreak and
TwistyContrib to create a nice discussion forum. The twisties are around each thread (with +/- buttons for open/close), each reply box and the "start new thread" form. The twisty IDs are generated using %SERVERTIME%.
Everything works great except for one problem. Browser search does not work as expected unless all threads are open. What we need is a "expand all threads" button.
Any suggestions on how we can do this? Should we write a JS function that calls twist() on all closed threads?

Not sure is applicable or not: The latest version ships now with a compressed js file. In case there are direct references to the original uncompressed js file by 3rd party you could ship the contrib with both files for compatibility.

I would be interested in expanding Twisty to be able to expand al items. But I only see this feasible with the
TwistyPlugin, not with
TwistyContrib.

TwistyContrib is also updated to version 1.2. Implemented: buttons to expand all items. Yes, it's possible without
TwistyPlugin as well!

When I ask for a 'Printable' version of a page containing Twisties, the current link value (i.e. 'showlink' or 'hidelink', depending on the state doesn't print, despite appearing in the browser display.
