Discussion forum for the DakarContrib

Right now, only the Sandbox feature is in this package. Some plugins that need a sandbox might want to build on top of the DakarContrib. There are some other things that might be of use on a cairo engine that might have a natural home here.

Thanks Micha for contributing this COntrib package. I made some changes to the Contrib topic, please feel free to take this into the next release.

I'm quite unclear of the purpose of this: is it to allow Cairo installs to use the Dakar plugin functionality? or for Dakar installs to be backward compatible with Cairo? or something else?

No, and I don't know if this is possible if you had TWiki::Func::registerTagHandler() in mind. As I wrote above: This is only containing a copy of the Sandbox snarfed from the dakar engine right now. There are a couple of other resources that can be brought to cairo to use them in plugins running on both dakar and cairo.

For compatability With mod_perl, it has been suggested that plugins avoid using globals. Dakar gives (at least) two mechanisms for this, using context and/or session information.

However, using getContext to pass data between plugins breaks compatibility with Cairo. How difficult would it be to implement in this plugin a Cairo version of Dakar's getContext?
