Question
How can I tell if the AUTOINC function somehow got reset by accident?
I have a form to create a build notes document. We have created 50 build notes documents. Today when we tried to create another one we got this message below.
The "BuildNotesAUTOINC0001" topic already exists.
Why isn't TWiki trying to create a topic named BuildNotes0051 instead of BuildNotes0001?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Known issue. Remove the BuildNotesAUTOINC0001 page that someone created and you will be OK.

Thanks for the quick response Peter. Do you know if then the next time we use our form we created to produce these build notes document it will try and create a topic named BuildNotes0002? Then the next time BuildNotes0003?
Will it simply recycle and go 0001 to 0050 again? Do I need to rename all my existing build note documents?

On other thought I had is what if I change the form we're using to create the build notes from name="topic" value="BuildNotesAUTOINC0001"
to
name="topic" value="BuildNotesAUTOINC1001" will that temporarily relieve the issue?

You should be OK. It will count up to BuildNotes9999, then BuildNotes10000 and so on. I am not clear how the extra BuildNotesAUTOINC0001 got created, may be during a special case, such "edit anyway" with a locked topic.

Problem solved. There was a topic that somehow got created called BuildNotesAUTOINC0001. We're not sure how that got created but I simply renamed it to something else and that solved the problem. Thanks again for your help!
