Question

I want to change the color of the text that is used against my WEBBGCOLOR.

How can I do that?

This needs to be done using CSS. If you're using PatternSkin, see PatternSkinCss for specifics on the skin's use of CSS.

Ah, but I only want to change the text color for some webs, not globally for all webs. Only when the color is dark do I want lighter text. CSS changes have an unfortunate feature of being global.

Using the USERSTYLE variable with PatternSkin you can do your customizations per web or per topic as you feel fit. See PatternSkinCssCookbookNoTopBar for an example.
