Question

I'm sure this question just has to have been asked before, however I've not been so lucky as to find an answer!

I was hoping to find out if it is possible to have other variables expand upon topic creation, this would be especially helpful for things like templates for our status reports.

For Example:

lets say we have the tag %MONKEY% that when displayed shows an image of a monkey, however whenever I go to edit the page I just see %MONKEY%

What I would like is to do something like call:

%EXPAND{%MONKEY%}% and have it expand monkey so when I edit the topic I instead see.

is this possible?

If not, how much work would it take to create an ExpandPlugin? ?

Any help would be much apreciated
