Overview
This skin was developed to improve the usibility of the classic skin. It was inspired by
Steve Roe's DrKW skin. The DrKW skin, however required some TWiki code changes. I attempted to provide a similar interface, but using only to modifications in the skin template.
At this time, this skin only contains the the view template. I felt that the view page was the most complex and was the one used most often, especially for new users. I didn't think it necessary to change the other templates (preview, edit, etc.).

Notes
The skin utilizes a very small javascript feature for the Web List drop-down box so that it always reflects the name of the web you are currently in.
The drop-down list for the webs is hard-coded in the view.mikeb.tmpl. This should be updated to use the new
TWiki:Codev/TopicListAndWebListVariable syntax once it is available so that each time a new web is added, the template does not need to be edited.
Since this template uses a table cell on the left for navigation, it does suffer from the pre-formatted text limitation discussed
TWiki:Codev/BetterHtmlTableLayout.
Contents
The skin package contains these files:
- MikebSkin (this topic) containing installation instructions, documentation, etc.
- Image files in pub/TWiki/Plugins.MikebSkin/
- The view template, templates/view.mikeb.tmpl
All these files are packaged into a single
Plugins.MikebSkin.zip file, and attached to
the
Plugins.MikebSkin topic in this web.
Installation
Note: You do not need to install anything on the browser to use this skin. The following instructions are for the administrator who installs the skin on the server where TWiki is running.
- Unzip the Plugins.MikebSkin.zip file in your
twiki
installation directory.
- Check the Plugins.MikebSkin topic to see if the installation is successful.
- Edit the list of webs in the view.mikeb.skin. This will later be improved to utilize the enhanced %WEBLIST% variable (TWiki:Codev/TopicListAndWebListVariable)
- Test it by addeding "?skin=mikeb" to the URL to a TWiki page.
- (if you like it) set the SKIN preference to mikeb in your TWikiPreferences.
