Question

  • TWiki version: 01 Dec 2001
  • Perl version: ActiveState 5.8.0 build 804
  • Web server & version: IIS 5
  • Server OS: Windows 2000 Server
  • Web browser & version: IE 6
  • Client OS: Windows 2000 server, workstation

Is it possible to get binary attachments to work with ActivePerl and RCS? I find I am unable to use a cygwin mount from activeperl, and am afraid that is the problem (not using the special mount on cygwin).

I am attaching the testenv.pl output and twiki.cfg and output of the mount command.

Answer

See the WindowsInstallCookbook and the IIS cookbook in Codev - both have information about how to get binary attachments to work. If you are using ActivePerl there should be no problem, but I don't recall the exact setup.

Perl 5.8.0 is not a good choice for TWiki unless you are a Perl guru, and it could even be the source of problems due to UTF8 on binary files - try ActivePerl 5.6.1 which works fine.
