Question

Is there a Japanese translation of the templates available? If not, we can do it internally and if I can persuade management I'd like to try to release it back to the community. Are there any specific issues other than ensuring we use EUC-JP as the encoding method?

Answer

Hi - I don't believe there are Japanese translations already done but you are welcome to do some. You might like to email people who have commented on pages such as InternationalisationUTF8, TranslationSupport, and so on, who might have Japanese sites already. Do have a look at TranslationSupport and related pages about how a localisation framework for TWiki might work.

I'd be interested in any other issues you may be having with TWiki support of Japanese - as mentioned on JapaneseAndChineseSupport, EUC-JP is the best character encoding to use.

I do have one issue/bug I've just discovered with WebRss XML and Japanese and EUC-JP - I'll generate a new support entry for that.

As for the translation, I can get someone in the office enlisted to do that task!
