Question

I tried attaching a file from Lynx 2.8.4rel1 on Red Hat 6.2, and got an error from TWiki: 'uploaded file does not exist or is empty'. I checked that the file existed and was not empty. Same bug occurs on TWiki.org and on local March beta TWiki, and doesn't happen with other browsers. Is this a Lynx bug, and if so is there a workaround?

This is stopping me uploading patches to TWiki.org, so it would be nice to find a fix. I don't have X Windows access to the TWiki server here, so Lynx is the best option, unless someone knows a text mode browser that does do uploads to TWiki?

  • TWiki version: TWiki.org and March beta
  • Web server: Apache - Sourceforge and local
  • Server OS: Sourceforge and Red Hat 6.2

Answer

This was due to a Lynx bug that's fixed in recent versions. Lynx 2.8.5dev.16 (development version) on Cygwin works fine for attachments - tested on Sandbox.TestUpload and logged in BrowserIssues. I haven't done much other testing with this version.
