Question

After installing the Twiki software and finishing the webpage design in my laptop computer, I uploaded the folder (twiki) stored in C:\Program Files\Twiki\ to the internet server (say, www.abc.com/internal/).

However, I cannot open the WebHome which has been uploaded on the internet server as normal as opened in my computer harddisk. I am wondering if there is something setup needed before uploading the folder or opening the webpage. Or I have uploaded the wrong folder?

Basically, with respect to the situation in my computer harddisk, i've checked the WebHome is in txt format. I don't understand why the shortcut in html format in my Window Vista "START" Menu seemingly links to the WebHome.txt so that I can open the webpage which is not txt format. I don't really know how to explain but I am sure Twiki users experienced that.

Please help. Please advise how to do it. Thanks so much

Answer

ALERT! If you answer a question - or someone answered one of your questions - please remember to edit the page and set the status to answered. The status selector is below the edit box.

What is the exact URL that Vista is linking to? (blanking out the host name if you prefer). The reason I ask is because if it looks like file://... instead of http://... then it only works because the browser is bypassing the web server and accessing your file system directly.

Otherwise, I sugguest checking the file permissions on the server.
