Spyware is a software program that watches you as you visit different web sites, and records information about where you go in order to build marketing profile about you. Spyware is often included in "free downloads" from the Web, where the license agreement (which so many of us accept without reading) may mention that information about where you go on the Internet will be transmitted back to the company's Web site-but not information specifically about you. Spyware has become an issue about privacy on the Internet.

In addition this "spyware" uses a lot of our computer resources, slowing down our computer when we try to do something with it.

So what everyone now needs is a spyware utility program that detects these hidden programs running on your system and gets rid of them. Do not get these confuse with cookies - those static small text files that do no harm.

I found out the hard way about this also, as one of these nasty little programs actually was preventing me from using any browser software, which means while I could connect to the Internet - I couldn't see anything, as you need a browser to do this. I finally got a browser to open when a pop-up window opened on my computer screen. (We will be talking about pop up windows next.)

Then I was able to download a free spyware utility program that fixed my problem. This free spyware utility program is called Ad-aware and the web address is listed below. I still get spyware on my system from free downloads, but I run this spyware utility program after I download to get rid of the spyware programs. Some free download programs do not work without the spyware activated, so then it becomes your choice of which you want more.
