NatsWiki Installation

Installation at the Natural Language Systems Divison, Faculty of Informatics, University of Hamburg

This is the originating installation of the upcoming NatSkin, NatSkinPlugin, and NatSkinMods. Please be patient while I'm getting things straight to release the stuff I use here.

Here's a current (2003-10-07) screenshot:

NatsWiki-2003-10-07.jpg

Features:

  • reworked integration of MovableTypePlugin (extensive css fixes), six different styles (clean, georgiablue, gettysburg, plainjane, rusty, stormy) selectable from within your browser (in konqueror try menu View->Use Stylesheet) or preselectable at the user's home topic
  • completely css based, alter styles on a per topic base
  • enhanced WebMenu taken from the GnuSkin (might be switched off per topic)
  • added PhotonSearch from the PhotonSkin
  • document relations: render webmenu as chapters and sections, parent relation to parent topic, bookmarks for twiki actions
  • added a CacheAddon: cache entries get invalidated after saving, not during view; this cache will always give you the correct page; dependency checker takes different topic relations into account by distinguishing includings, wiki links and their combinations; topics are markable as non-cacheable which will skip caching; cache entries can be invalidated by purpose to force a newly rendered version (hacking some plugin?)
  • replaced realm-based authentication with nice login screen, using session cookies and ssl
  • all authenticated connections run thru ssl
  • extensive access control to separe (separate? spare? what word is that supposed to be?) webs
  • moved users into a user web out of the main web which is the departments web presentation with separate access rights
  • added a support web and moved all twiki and NatsWiki faqs into it
  • reworked the HeadlinesPlugin: see here
  • written a BibtexPlugin based on the BibliographyPlugin with a nice query form, inline bibtex, extensive customization, citation (here)
  • rewritten the ImageGalleryPlugin to give a nice image album feeling (including the obvious document relations first, prev, next, last, up/parent)
  • improved the spam protection to render a picture AT instead of the @ at
  • home of the AliasPlugin
  • added a demo plugin to get a web frontend to our parser for natural language (here)
  • small rework of the MathModePlugin
  • refactored a VotePlugin (demo)
