It is indented to give a quick and rough overview.
The states explained:
YES : The device is working with linux
BUT : The device is working but has some restrictions
NOT : The device is not working with linux
NKN : It is not known atm, if the device is working with linux
The second Param is the Firmname.
The third is the Device Name
The fourth is an additional comment (optional)

Firmware:
The "firmware" is a kind of software required to use the device.
Often it is not free, and has to be installed on every machine where you
want to use the device and it has to be
extracted using a custom tool from some file which you only can unpack
using a Windows machine or Wine.
