Embedding TWiki in Proprietary Software?

From DownloadTWiki:

  • Please note that TWiki is not distributed under the LGPL (Lesser General Public Licence), which implies TWiki can only be distributed with software that is licensed under conditions compliant with the GPL. Embedding in proprietary software requires an alternative license. Contact the author for details.

I never realized that statement in TWiki's license, and these days TWiki was mentioned on a list I'm subscribed to as "dual-licensed". I must assume I was confused, since there is no "the author" anymore, and I myself would not allow any code written by me to be licensed for embedding in proprietary sofware.

Is the kind of licensing actually being done, or it would be better to rephrase that statement for future releases?

Discussion

I think this is now a very theoretical possibility since in order to dual license TWiki today you would need to get approval from all the TWikiContributors.
