A Possible Alternative

Over the next while I will be studying patternskin stylesheets with the goal in mind of creating alternatives as a drop in theme change for those wishing an easier option to change layout and style of their site.

This is just an undertaking of my own with no official approval or plan. Delete this topic if it is out of place please. Delete this line if not lol.

It has been seen before that an option to choose between styles built in along the lines of the Movable=type (Copy Cat Skin), may work. I would prefer not to, because it creates a lot more work due to "inheritance issues", meaning that anything not defined in every stylesheet gets inherited from other ones in cache, and can create a mess. Far easier, at least at present, to have a replacement, ie: ftp-upload new style, and then define it/call it in TWiki Preferences or Web Preferences.

Themes for PatternSkin is a great idea! I've been a great fan of the principle used at CSS Garden. What's needed to cleanly separate function from the look & feel.

I would welcome this (of course). Have a look at PatternSkinPalette for the colors. Perhaps you can come up with a simpler color scheme.

Yes, I can come up with some color schemes, Will do some samples asap.

Just looked at it, is good for what is where presently.
