This diff against preview.tmpl will onload submit the save button on the preview page. I've search for a while I couldn't find a feature to bypass the preview functionality without loading a skin and patching. This works against my otherwise OTS 01-Feb-2003 production release.
Enjoy.
PS You can get a feel for it on
my page (no more - it's been changed for me to remove my hack - doh!)

Hi Ram, I can really see why you'd want to
SaveWithoutPreview - it being mandatory is one of the most widely despised mis-features of TWiki. Practically every skin developer has made previewing optional to the end user and
PeterThoeny did promise that this would be addressed "soon". (And given that almost year has passed since Peter said this, the time has come!)
- I do not think it helps to remind the CoreTeam and CodevCommunity relentlessly what is not there. Glass half full vs half empty attitute. -- PeterThoeny - 10 Aug 2003
However, therein lies the answer - instead of your ingeneous patch, I think you'd find it beneficial to use a
SkinPackage. Among other things these also make the look and feel of TWiki much more amenable to the eye than what we see on TWiki.org. There are plenty of skins worthwhile looking at but I personally use
KoalaSkin and
HobbesSkinDev.
The skins are due for some consolidation - see
ConsolidateFunctionalityFromSkins. The plan is to adopt the best practice from each of the skins and develop a new framework on which new skins are based. As both Colas, Torben and Arthur have given me specifics of how they want to acheive this and have agreed to work together on a common framework this adds weight to my opinion that Hobbes or Koala skins are the best to use right now.

Out of curiosity, Ram, why did not you just used the
SavemultiCgiScript ? It is a standalone patch without a string attached,
giving you the functionality you need... Better join forces on this topic...

Hello Martin. I find the default user interface a bit short on polish however I find the ease of use and functionality compelling - TWiki was even easy to setup. Kudos to the install doc and
testenv
script people.
Having used my hack for a while I can say that I'd rather have two buttons on the edit page - and thinking about that I want three - I really do. When I was figuring out of how to get around the preview requirement I came across the same feature in skins but I decided I'd enjoy time twiking, uhh, tweaking my system by code more than installing and configuring a skin. It was a change I made for myself in a way that I enjoyed and then made easy for people to use in case anyone would want to. I'm sure you understand =D
Hi Colas, Thanks for pointing out that script! I didn't dig enough to find out I could use it piecemail.
