CGI Accelerators Comparison

FastCGI vs. SpeedyCGI

Hi Rob (FastCGI) , Sam (SpeedyCGI) and George (Metrics paper),

On Fastcgi.com: http://www.google.ca/search?q=speedycgi+site%3Afastcgi.com

gives some quite old discussion about speedycgi but it seems there's nothing consolidated on your site about the pros of using FastCGI vs. Speedy.

On DameonInc.com: http://www.google.ca/search?q=site%3Adaemoninc.com+fastcgi returns e.g. http://daemoninc.com/SpeedyCGI/yapc_2001/ but is pretty old - for instance it says that FastCGI is not available on windows.

http://www.masonhq.com/?SpeedyCGI says that http://daemoninc.com/speedy/oldmailArchive/msg00113.html should show a comparison but the page is not found

Even the speedycgi release notes says "Need benchmarks and feature comparison of speedy, mod_perl, fastcgi." (http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=11617)

George's http://www.dmst.aueb.gr/dds/pubs/conf/2002-SANE-DynCont/html/dyncont.html is probably the most insightful - but it does not rate speedycgi

My hosting provider provides for fastcgi but not speedycgi. The application I use (TWiki) is adapted for speedycgi but not fastcgi...

I've also posted this to http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Codev/CgiAcceleratorsComparison

Thanks for any comments.

Regards, Martin
