TWiki is an enterprise collaboration platform and application platform. TWiki has been downloaded over half a million times and is used by leading Fortune 500 businesses and Government agencies as an intranet, extranet or a public internet website.

TWiki Release 5.0 is a major release that strengthen TWiki as an application platform:

  • New TopMenuSkin with pulldown menus for better usability and corporate/modern look&feel.
  • Feature enhancements to strengthen TWiki as an application platform, such as using the query syntax within the format="" of a SEARCH.
  • Bundling additional plugins to strengthen TWiki as an enterprise collaboration platform.
  • Usability/feature enhancements to core TWiki and bundled plugins.
  • OpenID 2.0 integration allowing users to login with a Google/Yahoo/etc account (separate download.)
  • Multiple File Upload Feature.

The TWiki 5.0.2 patch release adds some bug fixes and a few features. Some highlights:

  • The SlideShowPlugin now supports keystrokes to navigate the slides
  • The JQueryPlugin has now jquery-1.5.1 and jquery-ui-1.8.10
  • Adding 8 new TWikiDocGraphics icons, and 2 updated icons
  • SpreadSheetPlugin: New $LISTNONEMPTY(), $SPLIT() and $WHILE() functions
  • In TWikiForms type table, automatically list form field types that are defined in plugins and contribs
  • TopMenuSkin: Customizable web-specific top bar

  • Fix: Sanitize URL parameters in login
  • Fix: Allow Delete of Duplicate Attachments
  • Fix: The viewfile script delivers attachments with lower-cased names
  • Fix: $RIGHT(), $LIST(), $LISTRAND() of SpreadSheetPlugin

TWiki is open source software. The Perl CGI source code, default templates and documentation are available for free and can be redistributed under the terms of GPL (GNU General Public License). The identical .zip and .tgz packages can be used on all platforms; an installation guide is included in the package; supplemental documentation contain platform specific instructions.
