Discussion

We've already got one Wysiwyg editor in the plugins collection that's improved quite a bit since a year ago when I first looked at it. (good enough that I stopped working on a "competing" plugin that wasn't designed as well). It's not perfect, but the only thing I noticed that wikywyg does better is that instead of toggling between WYSIWYG and html, it toggles between WYSIWYG and the relevant wiki ML (and preview mode). The Kupu-based plugin editor, on the other hand, offers more of the markup features that TWiki has that some other wiki ML languages lack.

That said, the method that the current plugin uses lends itself to being plugged into by other editors, so the worst of the work is already done.

(that was directed at Dmitry's comment, sorry I didn't make that clear).

A WikiWyg integration would actually have some advantages, the primary one is speed.
