Who am I?
I'm
GilmarSantosJr. Currently I'm taking a undergraduation course on Computer Science at
Universidade Federal da Bahia
. I love programming and I work with Perl since early 2005. In my first Job I had to develop a mechanism to integrate other applications to TWiki, which resulted in
MasonPlugin.
What do I want?
write access to
SVN for the following branches:
scratch
twikiplugins
What can I do?
Why do I want to do it?
My Undergraduation Final Project is to change TWiki so it could be run as a
stand alone server. My goal is to achieve similar performance results to
ModPerl,
SpeedyCGI and
FastCGI without having many copies of TWiki in memory. So I'm asking for checkin rights to create a branch and try out that ideia and also to move
MasonPlugin from my repository to TWiki's Subversion

Questions and Comments:
I have read
TWikiStandAlone and it sounds like an interesting approach.
Creating a branch of MAIN to try it out is a good idea since it is a bit of an experiment.
I support that you get full access.

This sounds like an interesting request, performance improvements is indeed one of the sweet spots in our
TWikiRoadMap
I am for full access as well.

Yes, this is an excellent initiative, well worth researching. I also support full access, and second Kenneth's recommendation that the work should be done on a branch (except the
MasonPlugin, which should be moved to MAIN).

FYI, I'm Gilmar's undergraduation project supervisor.
It's nice that you guys also think that this is a good idea.
SoYouWantToBeATWikiDeveloper says that any "check-inner" can add access to others, but I couldn't find exactly how to do it. I can do it myself, just need to know how.

I fully support your request Gilmar, sounds like an intersting project! And thanks Antonio for mentoring Gilmar.

Welcome to TWiki development Gilmar. You should now be able to create a branch, and run :). I look forward to seeing a review of the existing Perl server infrastructure, and hope to see something as simple to use as that in Catalyst!
